My Gym Buddy is designed to keep personal fitness information on your device wherever practical while using limited connected services for account access and app operation.

Account information

My Gym Buddy uses an account system for registration and sign-in. Limited account information such as your email address, account identifier and authentication data may be stored by the service so your account can be recognised and secured.

Profile and workout information

Training profile information, workout history and nutrition diary information are primarily stored locally for the active user on the device. Multiple saved users on the same device use separate local storage contexts so their app data is not deliberately combined.

Biometric security

If you enable biometric locking, authentication is handled through the biometric facilities provided by Android and your device. My Gym Buddy does not receive or store your fingerprint or facial biometric template.

Nutrition and photo analysis

When you deliberately use food photo analysis, the selected or captured image must be processed for the requested analysis. Barcode and food-name searches may also send the barcode or search terms required to retrieve matching food information. These features are only used when you choose to use them.

App updates and technical information

The app may contact My Gym Buddy services to check the current app version and determine whether an update is available or required. Basic technical information necessary to complete that request may be processed by the web server.

Your responsibility

Fitness, calorie and nutrition figures provided by the app are estimates and are intended as general fitness information. They are not a substitute for medical, nutritional or other professional advice.
